Resumo: RESUMO O artigo se constitui como um ensaio e está estruturado em três partes. Inicialmente, dispenso atenção à análise da historicidade do termo digital. Em continuidade, apresento definições técnicas que caracterizam o digital, assim como debato experiências acadêmico-tecnológicas que, no transcurso dos anos 1940 e 1950, lançaram mão desse termo em processos de sistematização de dados eletrônicos. Na terceira parte do escrito, reflito sobre alguns dos direcionamentos contemporâneos do digital, problematizando as conformações da dark web.Palavras-chave: Digital; Humanidades Digitais; Direcionamentos Contemporâneos.ABSTRACT The article is an essay and is organised in three parts. First of all, I undertake an analysis on the digital historicity term. After that, I present some technical definitions that characterizing the digital, as well as I debate on academic and technological experiences that, in the 1940s and 1950s, used this term to refer to processes of electronic data systematization. In the third part of this essay, I reflect on some of the contemporary directions of the digital, problematizing the conformations of the dark web.Keywords: Digital; Digital Humanities; Contemporary Directions.
