Resumo: O texto traz a importância da educação de usuários para o desenvolvimento de habilidades e competências que ajude na formação deste indivíduo que está se tornando pesquisador, trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica. Destaca o valor da biblioteca enquanto ambiente de prática educacional em que tem muito a contribuir para esse processo, pois é uma extensão da sala de aula. Pontua a responsabilidade dos profissionais da informação diante do advento tecnológico que se instaurou no ambiente educacional, tornando-se imprescindível ao bibliotecário se posicionar de modo que este usuário não perca o foco principal, que é a busca da pesquisa coerente e bem referenciada. Baseia-se teóricos da educação e da Biblioteconomia como Milanesi (2002), Freire (2012), Campello (2009) Fonseca (2007) Froebel (2001) Gadotti (1984) dentre outros. O texto faz uma ponte entre educação e ciência da informação com a inferência desses autores.

Abstract: The text shows the importance of user education to the development of skills and competences that help in the formation of this individual who is becoming a researcher. It is a bibliographical review and highlights the value of the library as an environment of educational practice that has much to contribute to this process, since it is an extension of the classroom. It also punctuates the responsibility of information professionals in the face of the technological advent that has taken place in the educational environment, making it essential for the librarian to position himself so this user does not lose the main focus, which is the search for coherent and well-referenced research. It is based on education and librarianship theorists like Milanesi (2002), Freire (2012), Campello (2009) Fonseca (2007) Froebel (2001) Gadotti (1984) among others. The text bridges education and information science with the inference of these authors.
