Abstract: The background of the Stephen A. Bastien Library is presented, emphasizing the contribution of key figures, who contributed to the consolidation of the library with their proposals and projects. Likewise, the general subjects that make up the library’s heritage and the services it provides to its user community are described, as well as the development of audiovisual content designed and created in coordination with the teachers to optimize the learning of foreign languages.
Resumen: Se presentan los antecedentes de la biblioteca Stephen A. Bastien, haciendo hincapié en la contribución de personajes clave, quienes coadyuvaron a la consolidación de la biblioteca con sus propuestas y proyectos. Asimismo, se describen los temas generales que integran el acervo de la biblioteca y los servicios que proporciona a su comunidad de usuarios, además del desarrollo de contenidos audiovisuales diseñados y creados en coordinación con los profesores para optimizar el aprendizaje de las lenguas extranjeras.
